Just finished my morning meetings and am enjoying a lovely organic salad and water at the Mod Market (this place is super cool). Anyway....
Before the MRI, I had coffee with Julie. As suspected, was a wealth of knowledge and support. Having gone through this only 2 years ago, she's tapped into the doctors, the lingo, and the whole process like no one else I know. She answered my most embarrassing questions and offered up some great advice (take my kids to meet the doctor, start yoga, etc). We also share the same insurance plan, so that was helpful as well.
I have great admiration for Julie (we've been colleagues for nearly 7 years), she's smart and strong and sassy. You would NEVER have suspected by looking at her that she's had a double masectomy; she has hair and perky boobs walks around with a quiet confidence bearing smiles. (I can do that, too!)
The MRI was relatively painless. Strip (put on one of those lovely gowns), lie down face down (let the girls hang through a section), slide into a tunnel, listen to the click, click, knock, knock, swooooooshhhhh, click, click. slide out. done.
Next up: results with Dr. Johs tomorrow. Then we can develop a plan of action.
I am so happy to hear about the visit you had with Julie she is a great encouragement.
