7 days post-chemo

Crazy week it's been! I went from feeling like death to feeling great to feeling 'eh. I haven't been sleeping very well the past couple of nights and my dreams have been CRAZY  - so intense they wake me up.

Here are a couple things I realized in the middle of the night last night: it's been only 10 weeks since I've been diagnosed with cancer, 10 weeks from now I'll have completed my LAST chemo (wohoo!), 10 years ago at this time I was on a road trip to Vegas and back, last year at this time I was in the best shape of my life (having completed a triathlon the month prior) and, man, life changes quickly!

Couple more things to note right now... this is the summer of LOVE. So many friends are getting married! But, most important of all, my baby brother is getting married, too! Yay! So - even while I'm at war with my body, things on the outside are beautiful; weddings, babies, boys growing. There is a bright spot in between all my treatments and that gives me lots to look forward to. (Not to mention all the special people making the trip out here: BFF Tasha, mama, Ted & Trisha, Tracy and Lisa- many thanks to you!)

I'd like to send a special SHOUTOUT to: Kati (& Grover), Mere (Aaron & Hayduke), Mike & Tiffany, Cyndi Lou (OMG! Cyndi your Caring Bridge post was awesome), the Karsted's and RifRad. I love you guys!!

  1. Really??? That road trip was ten years ago? Wow, doesn't seem like it. And, heck, we're both just as hot! When ya' got it - ya' got it! :)
