It's day 6, post chemo and, frankly, I'm not feeling as well as I was expecting. I think I may have either underestimated the toll this was going to take on my body or other chemo patients are doing things that are making it easier for them to handle. Not, mind you, that I thought this was going to be a walk in the park. It's just that the few other women I've spoken to say that they're "just a little tired" or "it's like morning sickness" for a few days. My doctor even said that I'm his "healthiest patient", so I'm thinking I got this thing whooped. Not exactly.
I've come to the conclusion that I need to be a little more diligent about the things going into my body and perhaps I'll feel better. We'll see. The thing is that I really can't find a lot *free* of resources about nutrition.... or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
Anyway, I do have the book (thank you for returning it, Cyndi) called Eating Well Through Cancer that will become my guide and hopefully, things will start to look up.
Susan - Sorry you are not feeling well at all. Just try to keep your mind on the end-goal - that chemo is kicking those cancer cells in the ass!
ReplyDeleteI love you my friend. Sorry you are feeling so bad. You have such strength. I'm reminded of that each time I speak to you or read your blog. Don't forget how strong you are. You amaze me Susan Tucker Coburn Tucker! I feel so blessed to be a part of your life - even if it is from across the country. My heart is forever connected with yours. If I could take this from you I would.
ReplyDeleteHey Sweet Pea: Hang in there, and Lynn's right...kicking butt on cancer...yay!
