Tucker here, blogging for the sleepy, IV-hooked, knit capped, morphine-gimped up Susan.
Surgery went well, though a bit longer than expected. The mass was removed, as were an undetermined amount of lymph nodes and the port used for administration of chemo. Dr. Johs, the world's best surgeon, not to mention the friendliest and one of Zac's biggest fans (more on this at a later date), said that everything went entirely as planned. The margins around the mass removed appeared clear, but more formal pathology will take place over the next couple of days. Similar news for the lymph nodes. So, later in the week, we'll know if this surgery is the only one needed. Dr. Johs feels strongly that it will be.
Susan will probably stay the night tonight and be home tomorrow. In case you are interested, Susan is in room 222 at Avista Hospital in Louisville, CO.
Thanks to Richard, Valerie and Brooke for their help today with the boys!
I am glad to hear that it went well. We were thinking of you all day today!
